There are places you don't reach by accident. You have to want them. Walk the whole way there. Leave the noise and the rush of everyday life far below and immerse yourself in another world.
A world of granite peaks, crystal-clear lakes, deep valleys, and endless horizons. A world called Pirin.
We invite you to three days of real high-mountain adventure in the Demyanitsa valley, taking us to two of the most striking and distinctive peaks in the range — Dzhangal (2730 m) and Gazey (2761 m).
We'll walk along the clear waters of the Demyanishka River, pass the Valyavishki and Gazeyski lakes, reach the magical Tevno Lake, and stand on peaks from which Pirin reveals itself in the full extent of its rugged beauty.
And each evening we'll return to our mountain home — Demyanitsa Hut, where warmth, shared stories, and a well-earned rest await after the long day.
Day 1 (Friday): Trailhead – Yulenski Skok waterfall – Demyanitsa Hut. We leave the cars at the trailhead and head up the beautiful Demyanishka River valley, with a short stop at the impressive Yulenski Skok waterfall. After about two hours we reach Demyanitsa Hut, settle in, and spend the evening getting ready for the big adventure the next day. Elevation gain: around +600 m, duration around 2 hours.
Day 2 (Saturday): Valyavishki Lakes – Dzhangal peak (2730 m) – Tevno Lake – Demyanitsa Hut. We head up the Demyanishka River valley to the crystal-clear Valyavishki Lakes, then climb the sharp, majestic Dzhangal peak. From its height, Pirin isn't just seen — Pirin is felt. We continue to the magical Tevno Lake, tucked high among the Pirin peaks, before descending back to Demyanitsa Hut for a warm dinner and a well-earned rest. Elevation gain: around +1270 m, loss: around -1270 m, duration around 7–8 hours.
Day 3 (Sunday): Demyanitsa Hut – Gazeyski Lakes – Gazey peak (2761 m) – Demyanitsa Hut – trailhead. We head toward some of the most beautiful high-mountain lakes in the area — the Gazeyski Lakes — before climbing Gazey, rising high above the surrounding cirques — the culmination of our Pirin adventure. From the summit, Pirin unfolds in every direction. We descend back to Demyanitsa Hut and follow the Demyanishka River valley back to the cars.
