There are routes you walk. And there are routes you experience with every step.
High above the valleys of Pirin, among dazzling white marble peaks and endless horizons, lies a place that makes the heart beat a little faster — Koncheto, the "Little Horse" ridge.
We invite you to a two-day high-mountain adventure devoted to the rugged beauty of Pirin's Marble Ridge. We'll climb Kutelo, Kutelo II, and Banski Suhodol, cross the legendary Koncheto ridge, and on the second day swap the white marble for the blue waters of Muratovo Lake and the panoramas from Muratov Peak.
Day 1: Kutelo (2908 m) – Koncheto – Banski Suhodol (2884 m). We set off from Vihren Hut toward Kazanite — one of Pirin's most impressive high-mountain cirques — and climb the eastern ridge. We stand on Kutelo — the second-highest peak in Pirin — continue along the ridge to Kutelo II, put on the necessary protective gear, and prepare for the most thrilling part of the day: Koncheto, the thin marble line cutting across the sky, along which we move slowly and carefully. After a successful crossing we continue to Banski Suhodol, from where the marble world of Northern Pirin unfolds in its full scale, before descending back to Vihren Hut through the saddle between Vihren and Kutelo.
Day 2: Muratovo Lake – Banderishka Porta – Muratov Peak (2669 m). We set off from Vihren Hut toward Muratovo Lake, then continue up to Banderishka Porta and Muratov Peak — one of the fine panoramic peaks in this part of Pirin, from which Vihren, Todorka, the Banderishki cirque, and the surrounding lakes all reveal themselves. We return via Banderishka Porta and Muratovo Lake back to Vihren Hut, where our two-day adventure ends.
Price: 144 € per person, including rental of the protective gear for Koncheto.
Not included in the price: accommodation and overnight stay at Vihren Hut, transport, food and drinks, personal consumables and other expenses of a personal nature.
Important: Crossing Koncheto is a serious high-mountain undertaking, and the program is designed for people with very good physical preparation, stability moving on steep and exposed terrain, and no strong fear of heights. The necessary protective equipment will be used during the crossing according to conditions and the guide's judgment. In the high mountains, weather and terrain conditions can change quickly, so the route may be altered or individual sections skipped at the guide's discretion. The group's safety always comes before the program and the climb of any particular peak.
Two days. Four striking peaks. Marble ridges and sharp edges. Blue mountain lakes. Adrenaline, challenge, and endless panoramas. This route isn't for everyone. And that's exactly its magic. Koncheto isn't told. Koncheto is experienced.
