Already have some experience in ski touring and want to build on your skills, move more efficiently, and make better decisions in the mountains?

Our two-day Ski Touring Course – Level 2 is designed for skiers with basic ski touring experience who want to refine their technique and gain more independence and confidence moving in the high mountains.

The course builds on the core skills from Level 1 and places emphasis on more complex terrain, route planning, efficient movement, line choice, and decision-making based on conditions.

During the course you will learn:

Refining your uphill technique: We will work on more efficient movement across varying slopes and terrain, correct distribution of effort, and maintaining a suitable pace during longer tours.

Kick turns on steeper terrain: We will refine kick-turn technique while climbing and apply it on steeper, more technical sections, where good balance and correct positioning matter most.

Using equipment in different conditions: When and how to use ski crampons, skins, and other necessary equipment. We will also focus on efficient transitions between climbing and descending modes.

Planning and choosing a route: How to build a suitable route based on terrain, snow and weather conditions, physical preparation, and the group's technical level.

Choosing an uphill line: We will look more deeply at line choice and how small changes to the route can make movement more efficient and reduce unnecessary effort.

Choosing a downhill line: How to analyze the terrain and choose a line according to slope, snow quality, obstacles, and the group's technical abilities.

Ski technique across varied natural terrain: Practical exercises for better control in different snow conditions — soft and deep snow, hardpack, broken and variable snow. We will work on adapting technique and skiing more confidently off the groomed slopes.

Group management and movement: How to organize the group during ascent and descent, maintain good communication, and make decisions based on terrain and current conditions.

Decision-making in the mountains: We will practice observing and assessing conditions while on the move and discuss when the original plan needs to change.

The goal is to gradually build the habit not just of following a route, but of understanding the terrain and actively taking part in decision-making.

Practice in real conditions

Both days will take place entirely in the mountains, combining instruction with full ski touring days.

You'll have the chance to apply what you've learned in real terrain and receive individual guidance on your technique and development.
